Coconut Sweet And Sour Meatballs

Ingredients
  Soft bread crumbs 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Pepper 1 Dash
  Milk 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Ground beef 1 Pound
  Onion 1 Small, minced
  Salt 2 Teaspoon
  Coconut 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), grated
  All purpose flour 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Butter 2 Tablespoon
  Sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Cornstarch 1 Tablespoon
  Water 1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)
  Cider vinegar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Soy sauce 1 Tablespoon
  Green pepper 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs), sliced
Directions

Mix crumbs and milk; let stand 5 minutes.
Add beef, onion, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt and pepper.
Mix gently but thoroughly.
Shape in 16 balls.
Mix coconut and flour.
Dip meatballs in egg, then roll in coconut mixture.
Melt butter in skillet.
Add meatballs and brown on all sides.
Mix remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt, sugar and next 4 ingredients.
Add to meatballs in skillet.
Cook and stir until sauce boils and thickens.
Cover and simmer 8 minutes.
Add green pepper and simmer, covered, 2 minutes.
Makes 4 servings.
