Pasta with Homemade Meatball Gravy

Ingredients

Minced beef 500 Gram
Grated parmesan 1 Ounce (1 Cube)
Dried oregano 1 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste
Pepper To Taste
Chopped onion 1 Large
Chopped tomatoes 8 Ounce (1 Tin)
Carrot 1 Large , grated
Tomato puree 2 Tablespoon
Pesto 2 Tablespoon (Fresh / From A Jar)

Directions

Finely chop 1 large onion and place in a blender along with the mince, salt, pepper, parmesan and oregano. Blend together. Rub a plate with some olive oil, then roll the mixture into small balls. Put the plate on top of a pan of gently simmering water and cover loosely with foil. Steam for 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, sauté with olive oil in a pan, another onion, chopped garlic, grated carrot and a tin of tomatoes. Add the pesto, basil, tomato puree and salt and pepper. Cook for 15 minutes, then add the meatballs and their cooking juices.

Cover and cook the sauce gently for a further 45 minutes.

Serve with pasta, parmesan and fresh basil.
