Sweet and Sour Turkey Meatballs
|Whole wheat bread slices||3 , torn into bite size pieces to make 1 cup|
|Fat free milk/Soy milk||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Ground turkey breast||1 Pound|
|Garlic||3 Clove (15 gm), minced|
|Freshly ground black pepper||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Plum sauce||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Bottled)|
|Pineapple juice||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Cider vinegar||2 Tablespoon|
|Chinese five spice powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
Preheat the broiler.
In a medium bowl, combine the bread and milk and let stand for 10 minutes.
Add the turkey, garlic, salt, and pepper and stir just until blended Shape the mixture into 24 small meatballs (about 1") and arrange in an 11" X 7" baking pan.
In a medium bowl, combine the plum sauce, pineapple juice, vinegar, and five-spice powder until blended.
Pour the sauce over the meatballs.
Broil the meatballs, turning once, for 20 minutes, or until browned, glazed, and no longer pink.
Toss the meatballs in the pan glaze.
