Sweet Sour Meatballs
|Meat loaf mix||1 Pound|
|Minced onion||2 Tablespoon|
|Soy sauce||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Cornstarch||2 1⁄2 Tablespoon|
|Canned pineapple juice||12 Ounce (1 can)|
|Canned pineapple tidbits||13 1⁄4 Ounce (1 can)|
|Firmly packed brown sugar||2 Tablespoon|
|Cider vinegar||2 Tablespoon|
|Instant chicken bouillon||1 Teaspoon|
|Chopped green pepper||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Pickled red pepper||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
Combine meat loaf mix, onion and 2 tablespoons soy sauce and shape in about 20 balls 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
Put in shallow baking pan and bake in preheated moderate oven (350Â°F.) 10 minutes.
Drain off fat and shake balls in pan, then bake 10 minutes longer; drain off fat.
Meanwhile, mix cornstarch with a little of the pineapple juice.
Combine remaining pineapple juice with remaining 2 tablespoons soy sauce and rest of ingredients, except green and red pepper; heat.
Add cornstarch mixture, stirring.
Cook, stirring, until mixture thickens and comes to boil.
Add meatballs and pepper.
