Everyone's Favorite Sweet And Sour Meatballs

  Egg 1
  Soya sauce 1 Tablespoon (For Making Meatballs)
  Green onions 3 , finely chopped
  Garlic cloves 1 Large, minced
  Fine dry bread crumbs 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Lean ground beef 1 1⁄2 Pound
  Canned pineapple chunks 14 Ounce, drained, juice reserved (1 Can, 398 Milliliter)
  Packed brown sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Rice vinegar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Soya sauce 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (For Making Sauce)
  Cornstarch 4 Teaspoon

1. Meatballs: In a large bowl, beat egg; stir in 1 tbsp (15 mL) water, soya sauce, green onions and garlic. Mix in bread crumbs and beef. With wet hands, form into 1-inch (2.5 cm) meatballs; arrange on a baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes or until browned and no longer pink in center. 2. 2. Drain on paper towels.
3. Sauce: Pour pineapple juice into a measuring cup and add enough water to make 1 cup (250 mL). In a large saucepan, stir together pineapple juice, brown sugar, vinegar, soya sauce and cornstarch until smooth. Place over medium heat and cook, stirring, until sauce comes to a boil and thickens. Stir in meatballs and pineapple chunks; cook for 3 to 5 minutes or until piping hot.
