Skewers Of Meat Calabrian Style

Ingredients
  Boneless ham/Pork loin 1 Pound
  Boneless veal rump 1 Pound
  Olive oil 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Finely chopped fresh basil 1 Tablespoon
  Crushed oregano 1 Teaspoon
  Crushed dried chilies 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Water 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
Directions

Cut the meat into small thin slices.
Thread the slices onto six skewers, alternating pork and veal.
Pour the oil into a small roasting pan, and brown the skewered meat in the oil over high heat.
Sprinkle all of the seasonings over the skewers, add the water to the pan, cover and cook for 45 minutes in a preheated 325° F. [170° C] oven.
