Ingredients
  Broiler chicken/3 pound/1.5 kilogram chicken legs 3 Pound, cut up (1.5 Kilogram)
  Salad oil/Shortening 60 Milliliter (4 Tablespoon)
  Onion 1 Large, sliced
  Brown sugar/Cider vinegar 50 Milliliter (3 Tablespoon)
  Bottled lemon juice 60 Milliliter (1/4 Cup)
  Tomato catsup 250 Milliliter (1 Cup)
  Worcestershire sauce 50 Milliliter (3 Tablespoon)
  Prepared mustard 15 Milliliter (1 Tablespoon)
  Water 125 Milliliter (1 1/4 Cups)
  Diced celery 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Oregano 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
Directions

In a large frying pan, brown the chicken in the salad oil or shortening.
As pieces are done, place them in a 3-quart (3 L) casserole.
Add the remaining ingredients to the fat in pan, bring to a boil and pour over chicken.
Cover and bake 1 hour in a 350°F (180°C) oven, then let cool.
Uncover and let stand until needed.
