Sizzling Meat On Green Wood's picture
  Lean ground beef 1⁄2 Pound
  Ground pork 1⁄2 Pound
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Monosodium glutamate 1 Teaspoon
  Egg 1 , slightly beaten
  Sweet basil/Oregano 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Prepared mustard 2 Teaspoon
  Milk/Tomato juice 2 Tablespoon
  Crushed cornflakes 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)

Mix all ingredients together and divide into 8 servings.
Wrap separately in wet-strength wax paper.
Before cooking time, gather 8 small greenwood branches.
Whittle one end to remove 4 or 5 inches of the bark.
Mold a serving of meat around the peeled wood.
Hold over hot coals, turning often until all sides are cooked.
Dip now and then in barbecue sauce.
To serve, hold the meat in a split finger roll and pull out the stick.
