Prickly Pear Marmalade

Ingredients
  Thinly sliced lemon 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Seeded chopped oranges 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Water 1 Quart
  Peeled seeded chopped prickly pears 1 Quart
  Sugar 6 Cup (96 tbs)
Directions

Combine first 3 ingredients in a large sauce pot.
Cover and let stand 12 to 18 hours in a cool place.
Cook rapidly until peel is tender, about 30 minutes.
Cool; add pears and sugar.
Bring slowly to a boil, stirring until sugar dissolves.
Cook rapidly to jellying point, about 25 minutes.
As mixture thickens, stir frequently to prevent sticking.
Pour hot into hot jars, leaving 1/4-inch head space.
Adjust caps.
Process 15 minutes in boiling water bath.

Hello Cookboy, you will not need any pectin to prepare this recipe. the yield will be between 1.5 to 2 quarts.
