Italian Marinara Sauce
|Olive oil||1 Tablespoon (Progresso)|
|Chopped onion||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), crushed|
|Canned crushed tomatoes||28 Ounce (Progresso, 1 Can)|
|Italian seasoning||1 Teaspoon, crushed|
|Ground black pepper||1⁄16 Teaspoon|
|Red wine||2 Tablespoon|
In a large saucepan heat olive oil until hot.
Add onion and garlic.
Saute until tender, about 5 minutes.
Add crushed tomatoes, salt, Italian seasoning and black pepper.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Simmer, covered, for 5 minutes.
