Maple Glazed Onions

Ingredients
  Boiling onions 12 Small, each about 1 inch in diameter
  Butter/Margarine 3 Tablespoon, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
  Maple syrup 3 Tablespoon
Directions

Preheat the oven to 400° F.
Cook onions in briskly boiling water, uncovered, for 2 minutes.
Drain the onions in a sieve or a colander.
With a small, sharp knife, trim the stem ends, slip off the white, parchment-like skins, and cut the tops from the onions.
Arrange the onions in a baking dish just large enough to hold them in a single layer.
Dot onions with butter.
Drizzle onions with syrup.
Bake 20 minutes or until onions are tender, stirring once or twice to coat onions with syrup.
Onions are done when they show no resistance when pierced deeply with the point of a small knife.
