Maple Melt Aways
|All purpose flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Butter/Margarine||1 Cup (16 tbs), softened|
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Maple flavor extract||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Pecan halves||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
1. Into large bowl, measure flour, softened butter or margarine, sugar, maple-flavor extract, and salt. With mixer at low speed, beat ingredients until blended, occasionally scraping bowl with rubber spatula. Increase speed to medium; beat until light and fluffy.
2. Preheat oven to 350°F. Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls, about 1 inch apart, onto ungreased cookie sheet. Gently press a pecan half onto top of each cookie. Bake 12 minutes or until cookies are lightly browned. Cool cookies slightly on cookie sheet, then with pancake turner, carefully loosen cookies and remove to wire racks to cool. Repeat with remaining dough and pecans. Store in tightly covered container.
