Baked Macaroni with Tomatoes
|Butter/Margarine/fat/salad oil||2 Tablespoon|
|Onion||1 Medium, sliced|
|Minced green pepper||1 Tablespoon|
|Bottled thick meat sauce||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Canned tomatoes||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Processed american cheddar cheese||1⁄8 Pound, grated to make 1/2 cup|
Cook and drain macaroni as in Boiled Macaroni, then arrange in a 1 qt casserole.
Melt butter in a skillet, add the onion, green pepper, and meat sauce, and simmer until partially tender—about 5 min.
Then add tomatoes, salt, and pepper and heat.
Pour over macaroni, toss well to mix; then sprinkle grated cheese on top.
Bake in moderately hot oven of 400°F for about 20 min or until cheese melts.
