Date Oatmeal Loaf
|Quick-cooking rolled oats||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Dates||1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped|
|Milk||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs), scalding|
|Flour||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Baking powder||4 Teaspoon|
|Light corn syrup||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
Add rolled oats and dates to the milk; let stand for 10 minutes.
Add the egg beaten slightly and corn syrup.
Mix and sift the dry ingredients.
Add the milk mixture, stirring only enough to blend well.
Bake in a greased loaf pan in a moderate oven (350 F ) for 1 hour.
