Orange and Date Tea Loaf

Ingredients
  Sifted all purpose flour 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Baking powder 3 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Sugar 2 Tablespoon
  Sliced pitted dates 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Candied orange peel 3 Ounce (1 Package)
  Egg 1 , slightly beaten
  Milk 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
Directions

Mix and sift dry ingredients.
Add dates and orange peel.
Combine egg and milk; stir into dry ingredients.
Pour into well-greased loaf pan (9x5x3 inches).
Bake in preheated moderate oven (325°F.) for 1 hour.
Cool on rack; wrap in wax paper and store for 24 hours before slicing.
