Old Fashioned Sage Loaf

Ingredients
  Meat loaf mixture 2 Pound (Ground Beef And Pork)
  Eggs 2
  Quick cooking rolled oats 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Onion 1 Medium, grated
  Canned applesauce 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Salt 2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Leaf sage 1⁄2 Teaspoon, crumbled
  Bottled steak sauce 1 Tablespoon
Directions

1. Mix meat-loaf mixture lightly with eggs, rolled oats, onion, applesauce, salt, pepper and sage until well-blended.
2. Pack firmly into a loaf pan, 9x5x3; unmold into a shallow baking pan. Score top in criss-cross pattern; brush with steak sauce.
3. Bake in moderate oven (350°) for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until brown.
