Date Nut Cherry Loaf

Ingredients
  Dates 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped
  Boiling water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Butter 1 Tablespoon
  Soda 1 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Egg 1
  Nuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped
  Cherries 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), halved
  Flour 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Salt 1 Pinch
Directions

1. Mix together the sugar, egg, nuts, cherries, flour and salt.
2. Pour date mixture over all and stir.
3. Pour into a greased loaf pan, and bake at 325° for 1 hour.
