Faux Chopped Liver

Ingredients
  Onion 1 Cup (16 tbs), sliced
  Butter 3 Tablespoon
  Hard boiled egg 2
  California sardines in tomato sauce 2
  Walnuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Kosher salt 1 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
Directions

MAKING
1) In a frying pan, melt the butter and saute the onions till browned
2) Combine the onions, eggs, sardines, walnuts, salt and pepper in a chopper or grinder
3) Chop the ingredients finely
4) Empty the ingredients into a bowl, cling wrap and place in the refrigerator to chill

SERVING
5) Serve over lettuce with rye bread
