Traditional Liver And Onions

|Calf s liver slices||6 (3/4 inch thick)|
|Bread crumbs||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs) (toasted)|
|Onions||3 Large, sliced|
|Shortening||3 Tablespoon, melted|
1) Lightly season the liver with salt and pepper, then coat in the bread crumbs.
2) Saute the onions in shortening until brown. Place the seasoned liver in onions and cook for 5 minutes on each side.
