Peel pears, leaving stems intact.
If necessary trim base of pears so that they stand upright.
In a saucepan combine strained orange juice, water, wine, sugar and orange rind; stir over low heat until sugar has dissolved.
Add pears to pan, simmer covered 20 minutes or until pears are tender, basting with syrup occasionally.
Allow pears to cool in syrup, then add Grand Marnier.
When cold, remove from saucepan and place each pear in individual serving dish.
Remove orange rind from syrup.
Spoon syrup over each pear before serving.
