Fresh Lime Filling

Ingredients
  Eggs 3
  Egg yolk 1
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), cut in pieces
  Limes 3
Directions

In top of double boiler, beat eggs and egg yolk slightly; add sugar, butter or margarine and lime juice.
Cook over simmering water, stirring frequently, 20—25 minutes until thick and smooth.
Chill thoroughly.
Use as filling for 2 cake layers or as topping on individual sponge rounds.

tastes delicious but i'm confused.. is it supposed to be liquidy?

You need to add like 2 Tbsp of cornstarch to thicken it, if not to thick add a little more until desired...
