Buttered New Peas And Lettuce

Ingredients
  Lettuce leaves/10-12 leaf lettuce leaves 6
  Bibb lettuce leaves/12 leaf lettuce leaves 6
  Peas 5 Cup (80 tbs)
  Fresh shelled peas 5 Cup (80 tbs) (young)
  Green onions 2 , chopped
  Butter 2 Tablespoon
  Chicken stock/Water 1 Tablespoon
  Sugar 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

Line a 2-quart saucepan with the lettuce leaves.
Add the peas.
Sprinkle on the green onions and add butter, stock, and sugar.
Cover and cook gently for 20-30 minutes until the peas are tender.
Add the salt.
Stir in lightly.
Remove from heat and cover again for another 2 minutes.
Serve in the cooking dish if possible.
