|Vinegar||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Garden lettuce||3 , washed and leaves separated|
Cut bacon into small pieces and fry in skillet until crisp.
Remove bacon to drain on paper towels.
Slice onions, both bulbs and tops, into bacon fat in skillet.
Add sugar, vinegar, and pepper.
Cook for 2 or 3 minutes; pour over lettuce in salad bowl, mixing lightly.
Top with crisp bacon.
