Stuffed Lettuce

Try this amazingly delicious Stuffed Lettuce. This tasty and effortlessly prepared Stuffed Lettuce is the one side dish about which you surely would love to talk about with us!
  Ground meat/A mixture of meats, such as pork/pork sausage/beef/liver/lamb/fish 1 Pound
  Soft bread crumbs 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Egg 1
  Tomato juice/Milk 2 Tablespoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Thyme 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Onion To Taste
  Garlic To Taste
  Green pepper To Taste
  Parsley To Taste
  Boston lettuce head 1 Large
  Chicken broth/Beef broth 2 Cup (32 tbs)

1. Mix thoroughly all ingredients except lettuce and broth. Shape into a ball.
2. Remove the stalk from the lettuce, loosen the leaves under running water and drain. Place a few large leaves on a square of white cloth and set the ball of meat mixture on them. Wrap the inner leaves around the ball of meat, and then cover with larger leaves.
3. Wrap the lettuce-covered meat in the cloth and tie securely with string. Place in boiling broth in a deep saucepan, lower heat and simmer, covered, one hour, turning once.
4. Remove the cloth carefully and serve in thick slices with a sauce made by thickening the broth in the pot.
