Sauteed Lentils

Ingredients
  Lentils 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Fat 2 Tablespoon
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
Directions

GETTING READY
1.Start by washing the lentils and soaking them overnight in cold water.
MAKING
2.Next day, drain the lentils and cook, covered, in boiling salted water, 2 to 3 hours or until tender.
3.When they will crush quickly between the fingers they are done.
4.Melt fat in frying pan, add lentils, salt and pepper and cook 15 minutes.
5.Boil ham bone or small pieces of bacon or salt pork with lentils if desired.
6.Add 2 onions, minced, and fry with lentils if desired.
SERVING
7.Serve with a sauce of your choice
