Baked Lentils With Cheese

Ingredients
  Lentils 12 Ounce, rinsed (1 3/4 Cups)
  Water 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Bay leaf 1
  Salt 2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Marjoram leaves 1⁄8 Teaspoon, crumbled
  Whole sage 1⁄8 Teaspoon, crumbled
  Thyme leaves 1⁄8 Teaspoon, crumbled
  Onions 2 Large, chopped
  Garlic 2 Clove (10 gm), minced / mashed
  Canned tomatoes 1 Pound (1 Can)
  Carrots 2 Large, sliced 1/8 inch thick
  Celery 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), thinly sliced
  Green pepper 1 , seeded and chopped
  Parsley 2 Tablespoon, finely chopped
  Sharp cheddar cheese 10 Ounce, shredded (3 Cups)
Directions

GETTING READY
1. Preheat oven to 375°.

MAKING
2. In a shallow baking dish about 9 by 13 inches, add lentils, water, bay, salt, pepper, marjoram, sage, thyme, onions, garlic, and tomatoes.
3. Seal with a foil.
4. Bake for 30 minutes.
5. Uncover and add carrots and celery.
6. Cover and bake for 40 minutes.
7. Uncover and add green pepper and parsley.
8. Sprinkle cheese over it and bake uncovered for 5 minutes.

SERVING
9. Serve hot.
