Lentil Cheese Bake
|Onion||1 Medium, chopped|
|Lentils||1 1⁄3 Cup (21.33 tbs)|
|Water||4 Cup (64 tbs)|
|Celery||1 , chopped|
|Summer savory||3⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Carrot||1 Cup (16 tbs), grated|
|Potato||1 Medium, diced|
|Powdered skim milk||2 Tablespoon|
|Cheese||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), grated|
1)Preheat the oven to 350 Deg F.
2) In a heavy saucepan, saute the onion in oil, stir in the lentils, add the water, celery, savory and thyme; allow to boil, simmer covered for 45 min.
3) Add the carrot, potato and salt, simmer for further 10 min;
stir in the milk and 1/4 cup grated cheese.
4) Pour the mixture into a greased casserole and bake covered, in a preheated oven for 30 min.
5) Remove the lid, sprinkle the remaining 1/4 cup of cheese over the lentil mixture and return to the oven until the cheese melts.
6) Serve on a nice dish.
