|Ground beef/Bulk italian sausage||12 Ounce|
|Onion||1 Large, chopped|
|Garlic||2 Clove (10 gm), minced|
|Dried basil||2 Teaspoon, crushed|
|Dried oregano||1 Teaspoon, crushed|
|Lasagna noodles||5 Ounce|
|Egg||1 , beaten|
|Ricotta cheese/Cream style cottage cheese||2 Cup (32 tbs), drained|
|Grated parmesan cheese||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), divided|
|Shredded mozzarella cheese||8 Ounce (2 Cups)|
For sauce, in a large saucepan cook meat, onion, and garlic until meat is brown, stirring to break up pieces.
Drain off fat.
Stir in tomato sauce, undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, basil, oregano, pepper, and salt; bring to boiling.
Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Meanwhile, cook noodles according to package directions.
For filling, in a medium bowl combine egg, ricotta cheese, and 1/4 cup of the Parmesan cheese.
Layer half of the noodles in a 2-quart rectangular baking dish.
Spread with half of the filling.
Top with half of the sauce and half of the mozzarella.
Sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese.
