Southern Lamb Shank Dinner

Ingredients
  Gold medal flour 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (Regular Or Wondra)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Lamb shanks 4
  Shortening 2 Tablespoon
  Barbecue sauce 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Water 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Potatoes 4 Medium, pared and sliced 1/2 inch thick
  Salt To Taste
  Canned whole green beans 1 Pound, drained (1 Can)
Directions

Heat oven to 350°.
Mix flour, 1 tsp salt, and the pepper; rub shanks with flour mixture.
Brown meat well in hot shortening in Dutch oven.
Drain off excess fat.
Brush meat with Barbecue Sauce.
Add water to pan.
Cover and bake 1 hr.
Brush meat with sauce again; add potatoes and season with salt.
Cover; bake 1 hr longer.
Brush remaining sauce over meat; add beans and bake uncovered 30 min.
