Caramel Popcorn

Ingredients
  Freshly popped popcorn 4 Quart
  Firmly packed brown sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Margarine 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (1 Stick)
  Corn syrup 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Use Light Or Dark)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Vanilla 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

Spread popcorn in large buttered roasting pan.
In heavy saucepan, stir together sugar, syrup, margarine and salt.
Cook, stirring constantly, until mixture boils.
Continue cooking, without stirring, for 5 more minutes.
Remove from heat; stir in vanilla and baking soda.
Pour syrup over popcorn, and stir to coat well.
Bake in a preheated 250-degree oven, uncovered, for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
This recipe can be doubled; itstores well.
