Kielbasa And Kraut
|Sauerkraut||1 Can (10 oz), drained|
|Basil leaf||1 Teaspoon, crumbled|
|Celery seeds||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Brown sugar||3 Tablespoon|
|Hot water||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
1. Mix sauerkraut with basil and celery seeds in a 6-cup baking dish.'
2. Remove skin from the sausage and make several deep cuts, 1 inch apart, in the meat; push it down into sauerkraut mixture to cover it halfway.
3. Dissolve brown sugar in hot water in a 1-cup measure; drizzle over the sausage and sauerkraut; cover.
4. Bake in moderate oven (350°) for 1 hour, or until sausage is heated through and sauerkraut is tender.
