|Brown sugar||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Black pepper||1 1⁄2 Tablespoon|
|Vinegar||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
1. Remove the tomato stems.
2. Chop the tomatoes into small pieces.
3. Put all ingredients together in kettle.
4. Allow them to simmer slowly until cooked down to one-half. Stir occasionally to keep from burning.
5. This will take about four hours.
6. Strain and pour into sterilized jars and seal.
7. Serve this highly seasoned sauce over meats or baked beans.
