Papaya Juice

Papaya juice is made from the flesh of papaya, a healthy and delicious fruit, which is believed to have numerous health benefits. The juice is often sweet-tasting, especially if made with ripe papaya. People who prefer a less sugary tasting juice, use slightly unripe papayas or add some salt to alter the taste. Being a highly nutritious fruit, papaya is widely consumed and its juice has all the health benefits that the fruit offers. Another reason for the juice's popularity is that the fruit is not expensive and is easily available. The juice is fibreless and is often compared to that of melon or apricot.

Although packaged juice is now easily available everywhere, freshly squeezed juice is favored over the processed and packaged product which many consider unhealthy.

Health Benefits

Since the ancient times, papaya juice has been considered a healthy beverage, replete with medicinal and health properties. Ancient Greeks believed that the juice had properties to treat almost every ailment and physical discomfort, and it was an important part of their daily diet. In today's times, the juice is still considered to be a beverage full of benefits and nutrition. Various studies have been conducted to study the properties of the drink and time and again, research has supported most of the advantages associated with it.

In addition to being a nutritious drink which doctors recommend should be consumed at least once every day, papaya juice offers instant relief in physical discomforts like headaches, menstrual cramps, joint pains, colds, flu and cough to name a few. It is also believed to be an effective remedy for indigestion and abdominal pains. Abundant in antioxidants, the juice flushes out toxins from the body and promotes healthy functionality. It is also a remedy for weight loss and is believed to increase the rate of metabolism.

The juice squeezed from papaya is helpful in more complex health problems as well. Research has shown that regular consumption of the drink helps with cysts and fibroids. It is also believed to slow the progress of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases, and some cancers.
