Roselle Juice - Hibiscus Flower Drink

kadirecipes's picture
Roselle juice also called Bissap juice is a well known drink in Africa, especially in West Africa. From Senegal to Guinea Bissap is sold on every busy street. However, this drink is not only popular in Africa, because I’ve found out that many Asian countries too love this hibiscus flower drink.
Ingredients
Dry hibiscus flower 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Strawberry essence 1 Teaspoon
  Mint leaves 5
  Water 1 1⁄2 Liter
Directions

The first step is to wash the flowers, then put them in a casserole with the water and bring it to boil for 20mn.
Next, remove from heat and add the mint leaves. Then let it cool down.
Next, pour the juice through a strainer into another container.
Then add some sugar, the vanilla and the strawberry flavor.
Next, put in the refrigerator.
Serve very cold and enjoy!
