Ingredients
  Water 4 Cup (64 tbs)
  Barley 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), washed
  Cinnamon stick 1
  Red currant juice/Blackberry / raspberry juice / substitute other fruit juice 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Lemon 1 , juiced
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Raisins 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Bring the water to a boil and add the barley and cinnamon stick.
Lower the heat and simmer very slowly, uncovered, for 1 1/2 hours.
Add the remaining ingredients and bring to a boil.
Lower the heat and continue simmering slowly for 1/2 hour or until the mixture is the consistency of thick soup.
Remove the cinnamon stick.
