Cooking With Awesome: Festival Of Fried Foods

In which Morgan teaches you how to make latkes and applesauce.
Ingredients
  Russet potatoes 1 Pound, grated
  Sweet poatoes 1 Pound, grated
  Yellow onion 1 Large, grated
  Egg 2
  Salt 1 Pinch
For apple sauce
  Apples 6 , cored and diced
  Apple juice 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
  Nutmeg 1⁄2 , grated
  Light brown sugar 2 Tablespoon
  Canola oil 2 Cup (32 tbs) (For deep frying)
Directions

GETTING READY
1. Rinse and drain the grated potato, sweet potato and onion.

MAKING
2. In a bowl, lightly beat the eggs, add in the potato sweet potato, onion and salt, mix well.
3. In a skillet, heat canola oil over medium-low heat, spoon in the mixture with a big spoon and press them down with fork, fry for 2 minutes per side. Transfer to a cooling rack.
4. In another bowl, Combine all ingredients of the apple sauce, microwave for 10 minutes at high. Mash when done.

SERVING
5. Serve the latkes with the apple sauce.
