Quick Kasha Varnishkes
|Beef bouillon||6 Tablespoon (1/4 Cup Plus 2 Tablespoons)|
|Buckwheat groats||1⁄2 Ounce (Dry Ones)|
|Sliced mushrooms||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Diced onion||1 Ounce|
|Cooked enriched macaroni||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs) (Bow Tie Shapes)|
|Vegetable oil/Margarine||1 Teaspoon|
In a small saucepan bring bouillon to a boil.
Add kasha; reduce heat.
Cook until all liquid is absorbed.
In a small saucepan brown mushrooms and onion.
Add kasha mixture and macaroni.
Reheat, adding 1 or 2 tablespoons water, if necessary.
Remove from heat.
Stir in oil or margarine, if desired.
