Striped Jelly

Ingredients
  Gelatin 3 Tablespoon
  Water 8 Tablespoon
  Milk 6 Cup (96 tbs)
  Sugar 4 Tablespoon
  Coffee 3 Teaspoon
  Vanilla essence/0.25 teaspoon almond essence 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Food coloring 2 Drop
Directions

Put 1 1/2 tablespoons gelatine each in 2 separate bowls.
Add 4 tablespoons water to each and leave to soften for 15 minutes.
Dissolve carefully (read introduction).
Heat 3 cups of the milk with 1-2 tablespoons sugar and 3 teaspoons coffee.
Heat the remaining milk with the remaining sugar and add to it the essence and food colouring.
Add one lot of gelatine to each milk mixture.
Wet the mould or bowl and strain into it one lot of milk.
After it has set, add the other kind.
If you are doing it this way, add the gelatine to the second lot only before pouring in.
However, if you want a more decorative striped effect, make both the mixtures, put about one-third of the other kind and so on till the mixtures are all used up.
You will need to keep heating the mixtures in this case.
It is certainly a little tedious but the result is really pretty.
