Tempura Sushi

Sushi Tempura is a popular Japanese dish, which contains a combination of seafood and vegetables. The word tempura is derived from the word ‘tempora’, a Latin word that means ‘times’. Tempura is the technique of applying batter to fish and vegetables and later frying them. Sushi tempura recipes are quite popular that explain the easiest way of preparing this delectable and exotic Japanese dish. The Portuguese frequently used the word tempora and even today there is a Portuguese dish that is very similar to sushi tempura. Sushi tempura recipe basically consists of frying seafood and vegetables after applying a light batter of cold water and soft wheat flour. Additionally to this batter baking powder, starch, eggs, oil and spices too can be added. Both the seafood and vegetables are cut into thin pieces, dipped into the batter and deep fried in oil. Sushi tempura is ideally eaten with some kind of a dipping sauce such as tentsuyu sauce or daikon.
