Simple Takoyaki

ochikeron's picture
I made Takoyaki dessert using Mini Yukimi Daifuku :D Yukimi Daifuku is mochi ice cream manufactured by LOTTE. It is quite popular ice cream sold over 30 years since 1981, so I think you can find it at Japanese grocery stores overseas! I remember I found it in NY and Mitsuwa in NJ! Takoyaki is a ball-shaped Japanese dumpling. Watch this video and learn what it is ;)
Directions

MAKING
1) Thinly slice Chinese wolfberries to look like beni shoga (red pickled ginger).
2) Using a tea strainer (or any fine mesh strainer), lightly sprinkle cocoa powder to look like sauce and matcha green tea powder to look like aonori (green laver).

SERVING
3) Top with sliced Chinese wolfberries and eat with toothpicks!
