Char Grilled Beef Teriyaki

  Soy sauce 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Mirin/Sweet sake / dry sherry 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Sugar 2 Tablespoon
  Dry mustard 2 Teaspoon
  Garlic 4 Clove (20 gm), minced
  Boneless beef tenderloin/Sirloin 1 1⁄2 Pound, cut 1 inch thick (partially frozen)

Combine soy sauce; mirin, sake, or sherry; sugar; mustard; and garlic.
Cut partially frozen meat into thin strips.
Thaw meat completely.
Add to marinade and let stand 15 minutes at room temperature.
Thread meat strips accordion-style on small skewers.
Grill over hot coals to desired doneness, 5 to 7 minutes.
Turn and baste with marinade frequently.
