Everyday Chicken Teriyaki
|Water||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Soy sauce||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Dry sherry||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), minced (Small Clove)|
|Ground ginger||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Hot cooked rice||1 Cup (16 tbs) (To Serve)|
In large kettle combine first 6 ingredients; bring to boiling.
Add chicken pieces.
Cover; simmer till tender, about 30 minutes.
Remove chicken from soy mixture.
Cool chicken and liquid separately, then place chicken in bowl; pour soy mixture over.
Cover; chill at least 4 hours or overnight.
Remove fat from soy mixture.
Remove chicken; place in broiler pan .
Heat soy mixture.
Broil chicken 3 inches from heat about 10 minutes; turn and brush each side once with sauce.
