Mom'S Plum And Apple Jam

Ingredients
  Plums 1 1⁄2 Pound, halved and stones (700 Gram)
  Cooking apples 1 1⁄2 Pound, peeled, cored and sliced (700 Gram)
  Lemon juice 1 Tablespoon
  Water 10 Fluid Ounce (300 Milliliter)
  Sugar 3 Pound (1.5 Kilogram)
Directions

Put the plums, apples, lemon juice and water in an aluminium or stainless steel pan.
Bring to the boil, stirring constantly, then simmer until the fruit is soft.
Stir in the sugar and continue stirring until the sugar has dissolved.
Bring to the boil and boil rapidly until setting point is reached.
Remove from the heat and bottle according to the information supplied.
