Linguine Sauce

 

Linguine sauce refers to sauce which is mostly teamed with linguine pasta dishes. Linguine pasta is often served with sea food. Linguine is cooked separately and tossed with the sauce before serving

 

Sauces Served with Linguine

 

  • Clam Sauce – This sauce is prepared using minced clams, olive oil, white onion, garlic cloves, parsley, basil, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and freshly ground black pepper, and hot cooked linguine. Onion and garlic is sautéed in little oil and cooked with oregano, basil, parsley, salt, red pepper flakes, and pepper and clams are added towards the end of cooking.

    Serving – The cooked linguine is tossed with the clam sauce before serving.  

 

  • Calamari Sauce – The sauce is prepared using ingredients like anchovies per capers, oil, cleaned calamari, garlic cloves, dry crushed red pepper, dry white wine, and fresh basil leaf. Pasta is cooked separately and kept aside. Calamari is tossed in anchovy oil until opaque and cooked with garlic, onions, crushed anchovies, and crushed red pepper. White wine is added to the mixture and cooked until it thickens or get reduced by half.

    Serving - The cooked linguine is tossed into the sauce and cooked for some more time before serving.

 

  • Tomato Cream Sauce – This creamy sauce is often served during Sunday dinners in many Italian homes. It is prepared using ingredients like tomato pasta sauce, onion, olive oil, heavy cream and parmesan cheese. The pasta is cooked separately and kept aside. Onion is sautéed in a skillet and cooked with pasta sauce. Parmesan cheese and cream is added towards the end of cooking.

    Serving – The pasta is tossed with sauce before serving with extra topping of Parmesan cheese.

 

  • Spinach Sauce – This is classic Italian sauce prepared using fresh spinach.  Garlic cloves, pecans, spinach leaves, extra-virgin olive oil, Parmesan cheese, and freshly ground pepper are the other ingredients required to make this sauce. All these ingredients are pulsed in food processor to make a sauce.

    Serving  - Cooked linguine is tossed in the sauce. Sun-dried diced tomatoes are added to the sauce while tossing and it is generally served hot.

 

  • Picante Sauce – This is one of the classic amongst American sauces and is prepared using ingredients like onion, garlic, black beans, vegetable oil, canned stewed tomatoes, picante sauce, chili powder, ground cumin, dried oregano, finely shredded Colby Jack cheese and fresh cilantro. The sauce preparation begins by sautéing onion and garlic in vegetable oil and cooking it with other ingredients apart from Colby Jack cheese and cilantro.

    Serving - Linguine is cooked separately and tossed with sauce before serving
