Peasant Minestrone

Ingredients
  Cabbage 1⁄2 Small, shredded
  Carrots 2 , chopped
  Onions 2 Small, chopped
  Turnips 2 , chopped
  Chopped parsley 4 Tablespoon
  Shelled peas 1⁄4 Pound (125 Gram)
  String beans 1⁄2 Pound (250 Gram)
  Beef ribs 1⁄2 Pound (250 Gram)
  Boiling water 8 Cup (128 tbs) (2 Liters)
  Italian sausage 1 Pound, cut up (500 Gram)
  Grated parmesan cheese 1 Cup (16 tbs) (120 Gram)
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
Directions

Put all the vegetables in a large saucepan with the beef ribs, salt and pepper and boiling water.
Cover and cook over a low heat for about 1 1/2 hours.
Remove meat from bone and return to soup.
Add sausage and cook for another 1/2 hour.
Serve with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
