Italian Sausage And Rice
|Mild italian sausage||1 Pound|
|Canned whole tomatoes||28 Ounce, undrained|
|Canned tomato paste||6 Ounce|
|Onion||1 Large, chopped|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), crushed|
|Italian seasoning||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Ground red pepper||1⁄8 Teaspoon|
|Green peppers||2 Medium, coarsely chopped|
|Sliced fresh mushrooms||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Hot cooked rice||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Remove casings from sausage.
Cook sausage in a skillet until browned.
Stir to crumble, drain well.
Add tomatoes, tomato paste, onion, garlic, Italian seasoning, sugar, and red pepper, and bring to a boil.
Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 30 minutes.
Stir in green pepper and mushrooms.
Cover, and simmer 10 minutes.
Serve over hot cooked rice.
