Linguine With Tomato-Cream Sauce

Ingredients
  Onion 1 Medium, chopped
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm), minced
  Olive oil 2 Tablespoon
  Italian tomatoes 14 Ounce (Italian Style, Undrained)
  Dried basil 1 Tablespoon
  Sugar 3⁄4 Teaspoon
  Dried whole oregano 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Whipping cream 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Butter/Margarine 1 Tablespoon
  Uncooked linguine 8 Ounce
  Grated parmesan cheese 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
Directions

Saute onion and garlic in oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add tomatoes, basil, sugar, oregano, salt, and pepper.
Bring mixture to a boil; continue to boil 5 minutes or until most of liquid evaporates.
Remove from heat, stir in whipping cream and butter.
Reduce heat, and simmer 5 minutes.
Set sauce aside.
Cook linguine according to package directions, omitting salt.
Drain well.
Pour tomato sauce over hot linguine, and toss well.
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
