|White bread slice||4 , crusts removed (Thin, Firm Textured)|
|Freshly grated parmesan cheese||1 Tablespoon (Plus 1 Teaspoon)|
1. In a large heavy skillet, preferably nonstick, melt the butter in the oil over moderately high heat. When the foam subsides, add the bread slices and fry until lightly browned, about 2 minutes. Turn the bread and fry the other side for 2 minutes.
2. Sprinkle on the cheese, turn the bread one more time and cook until the cheese is lightly browned, about 1 minute. Drain on paper towels. Let cool for 5 minutes, then cut into 1/2-inch cubes.
