Italian Christmas Cookies

Ingredients
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), softened
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Eggs 6
  Orange rind 1 Tablespoon
  Flour 6 Cup (96 tbs)
  Baking powder 2 Tablespoon
  Confectioners sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Lemon juice 1 Tablespoon
Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Grease cookie sheet.
Cream butter and sugar in mixer bowl until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs 1 at a time.
Add orange juice and rind.
Add flour and baking powder; mix well.
Knead until no longer sticky, kneading in additional flour if needed; dough will be stiff.
Shape into 1/2 x 3-inch ropes; tie into knots.
Place on prepared cookie sheet.
Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove to wire rack to cool.
Combine confectioners' sugar with enough lemon juice to make a thick glaze.
Drizzle over cookies; sprinkle with candies.
