Italian Spaghetti Sauce

Ingredients
  Onion slices 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Olive oil/Salad oil 2 Tablespoon
  Ground beef 1 Pound
  Garlic 2 Clove (10 gm), minced
  Canned tomatoes 2 Pound (2 Cans, 1 Pound Each Or 4 Cups)
  Seasoned tomato sauce 16 Ounce (2 Cans, 8 Ounce Each Or 2 Cups)
  Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Canned broiled sliced mushrooms 3 Ounce (1 Can Or 2/3 Cup)
  Chopped parsley 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Oregano/Sage 1 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Monosodium glutamate 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Thyme 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Bay leaf 1
  Long spaghetti 2 Cup (32 tbs), cooked
  Grated parmesan cheese/Grated romano cheese 1 Tablespoon
Directions

Cook onion in hot oil till golden.
Add meat and garlic; brown lightly.
Add remaining ingredients; simmer uncovered 2 to 2 1/2 hours or till thick.
Remove bay leaf.
Serve sauce on hot cooked spaghetti.
Pass bowl of grated Parmesan or Romano cheese for folks to help themselves.
